G2P-J59Rutile TiO2 , Kyanite Al2(SiO4)O , Quartz SiO2 , Pyrophyllite Al2Si4O10(OH)2
Graves Mountain, Lincoln County, Georgia, USADimensions: 6.6 cm x 5.2 cm x 4.4 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 21 mm
This is a good example of the paragenesis of the locality, rutile porphyroblasts in kyanite schists. Other observed minerals include quartz and pyrophyllite.
A8N-06XVeszelyite (Cu,Zn)2Zn(PO4)(OH)3·2H2O , Hemimorphite Zn4Si2O7(OH)2·H2O
Sanguozhuang, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan, ChinaDimensions: 31 mm x 25 mm x 24 mm
Largest Crystal Size: 4 mm
Rich pocket of veszelyite on white hemimorphite. The dull light blue color on the crystal tips isn't damage; it's likely a second-generation of veszelyite.
E7J-JPECavansite Ca(VO)Si4O10·4H2O , Stilbite-Ca NaCa4(Si27Al9)O72·28H2O
Wagholi Quarries, Wagholi, Pune District, Pune Division, Maharashtra, IndiaDimensions: 2.2 cm x 2 cm x 1.6 cm
Spherulitic rosette of canvasite with stilbite crystals.
W69-D5LQuartz (Var: Chalcedony) SiO2
Cerro de San Pedro, Cerro de San Pedro Municipality, San Luis PotosĂ, MexicoDimensions: 10.3 cm x 5.3 cm x 4.3 cm
Botryoidal chalcedony collected by one of the locals of Cerro San Pedro. It is unusual to find specimen of this locality available.
AK3-J6AFeldspar Group (Var: Perthite), Amphibole Supergroup AB2C5((Si,Al,Ti)8O22)(OH,F,Cl,O)2
Bancroft area, Ontario, CanadaDimensions: 8.5 cm x 5 cm x 5.5 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 4 cm
Intergrowth of albite (var:peristerite) with a microcline host, there are also minor amounts on black amphibole and red garnets (extremely difficult to spot, unless you are using a loop). Unfortunately, the seller didn't gave me more information about the locality.
CQ5-YN0Gold Au
Bella MarĂa, BellamarĂa, Santa Rosa Canton, El Oro Province, EcuadorDimensions: 22 mm x 9 mm x 1.5 mm
Largest Crystal Size: 2 mm
Weight: 1.8 g
The specimen has been affected by the transport downstream, but still preserve the dendritic habit and contact twin on {111}. Overall, it is a very big gold flake for this area.
RPH-8FDDatolite (Var: Bakerite) Ca4(H5B5Si3O20) , Calcite CaCO3
Charcas, Charcas Municipality, San Luis PotosĂ, MexicoDimensions: 6.2 cm x 5.8 cm x 3 cm
Nodules of bakerite on colorless scalenohedrons of calcite, the material is a bit different from the golden tan crust covering nifontovite reported by Peter Megaw. The bakerite was confirmed with XRD and visual identification ( material resembling unglazed porcelain), the quality of the diffraction wasnt good enough to differentiate between bakerite and datolite.
YQ9-9TAAdamite (Var: Copper-bearing Adamite) (Zn,Cu)2AsO4OH , Calcite CaCO3 , Limonite
Ojuela Mine, MapimĂ, MapimĂ Municipality, Durango, MexicoDimensions: 13.6 cm x 7 cm x 3.8 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 4 mm
Fanlike rosettes aggregates of cuprian adamite on gossan matrix, there is also minor amount of calcite.
