Sited just below the cottages of the same name and to the east of the chimney. There are extensive rock dumps with plenty of arsenopyrite (massive form) and siderite (1mm orange/brown crystals in vugs). This was the location of the deepest shaft on the sett, sunk at the insistance of the Duke of Bedford who hoped to prove tin at greater depths as has been found at Wh Phoenix (or Dolcath depending on who you read). This however proved a costly failure and no tin was found.
