Rodingite dykes in serpentinite.
Good epidote crystals, 1-2 cm long and sometimes twinned, have been found in rodingite outcrops below Lago Nero, on the left hydrographic side of the stream draining the lake (Rio del Lago). Associated minerals are green diopside, greenish titanite (crystals up to 3 cm in size), vesuvianite, etc.
Rodingite outcrops are also present in the rocks above the lake.
Another important rodingite site is located near Grange Castelletto (45.206388 N, 7.151316 E), to the east of Malciaussia Lake, on a knoll on which a pylon of the high-voltage power line was installed. This site has yielded shiny grossular crystals, deep red to almost black in colour, in association with diopside, epidote, etc.
