Worked the northern, copper-rich end of the same vein on which the Ecton Mine was located. This mine's claim to fame is that in the mid 19th century it produced the copper (that was alloyed with zinc from Franklin, NJ) for the brass that went into the fabrication of the first weights for the just created National Bureau of Standards.
