The study looked at several sites in the Burke River area, as part of a 25 kilometre wide by 110 kilometre long lamprophyre dyke swarm, featuring carbonatites, fenites, and carbothermal veins, the assemblage dominated by ankerite, siderite, and Ba-Sr-REE carbonates. The main interest was baotite, a rare Ba-Nb-Ti chlorosilicate.
