The area lying between the Mineral Range on the east and the Escalante Valley (also known as the Milford Valley) on the west, and extending for a few miles north and south of the abandoned Roosevelt Hot Springs Resort. The northern border of the area approximately coincides with the northern edges of sections 35 and 36, T.26S., R.10W., and of sections 31, 32, 33, and 34, T.26S., R.9W. The western part of the area is bounded by the western edges of sections 15, 22, 27, and 34, T.27S., R.10W. The southern border of the area is the southern edge of T.27S.; and the eastern border is in sections 2, 11, 14, 23, 27, and 34, T.27S., R.9W. The total area is about 49 square miles.
