Rodrigo Silva is a district of Ouro Preto that is 18 km away from the municipal seat. It is located at latitude 20ΒΊ25'17" south and longitude 43ΒΊ36'45" west and has an average altitude of 1278 meters (highest altitude district in the municipality).

In the district is the only imperial topaz mine in the world. Surrounded by hills and isolated in its peace, the district reveals waterfalls in its surroundings. In Alto de Santa QuitΓ©ria, the peaks of Itacolomi and Itabirito can be seen.
