5CN-WLVLondonite-Rhodizite Series
Antsongombato gem mine, Antsentsindrano, Anosiarivo Manapa, Betafo District, Vakinankaratra, MadagascarDimensions: 41 mm x 33 mm x 39 mm
Good specimen of a very well-defined, pale greenish-yellow crystal of Londonite-Rhodizite on Rubellite-rich matrix. Labelled as Rhodizite, but no chemical analysis has taken place and since both Londonite and Rhodizite do occur on locality, this should be called Londonite-Rhodizite series. Not visible on the picture are several smaller, less well-formed Rhodzite crystals. A very nice specimen from Antsongombato, Betafo, Antananarivo, Madagascar!
Specimen was originally sold by Spirifer Minerals and came to me by Remco Vinken (Netherlands) in 2015.
Specimen is in my personal collection.

Small chunk of Schalenblende, collected in 2011 at the dumps of the former Schmalgraf Mine near Kelmis, Plombières-Vielle Montagne, Liège Province, Belgium. It is still possible to find Schalenblende (and other zinc minerals) at and around the dumps of this mine.
Specimen is hand-polished to show the nice banded structures in the specimen. I have several other Schalenblende specimens from these dumps.
Specimen is in my personal collection.

771-H56Cuprite Cu2O , Chrysocolla Cu2-xAlx(H2-xSi2O5)(OH)4·nH2O, x < 1
Mashamba West Mine, Sicomines copper-cobalt project, Mutshatsha, Lualaba, DR CongoDimensions: 5.2 cm x 4 cm x 2.9 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 7 mm
Not a very good specimen with Cuprite crystals embedded in Chysocolla-covered matrix. However, you can see the transparency of the larger Cuprites. Crystals are lustrous. There are some bright green spots on this specimen, I think that they are Malachite, but they are not identified. From Mashamba West Mine, Kolwezi, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo.
