"KLOPPERS QUARRIES opened in 1878 on quartzite for use as road base material, and for building stone. It closed in 1927. On imagery it appears as a small open cut into the side of a hill, not infilled, and with major regrowth (2008)."

"COULLS QUARRY was two small open cuts into the side of a hill working a quartzite, and beginning in the 1920's. Production from 1952-66 was 6980 tonnes."

Interestingly, Kloppers Quarry has hosted several plays during the 'Adelaide Festival of Arts' (one of several regular music and arts festivals held in South Australia), making use of its natual 'Amphitheatre' type shape, the area seats approx 200 people.
