A small tin mine, which cannot now be located. It lay south of St Ives Consols, but there is no trace left of the workings. It worked the western part of the Bahavellah lode, where it was hosted in granite country. This lode is located south of Standard lode of St Ives Consols and courses roughly parallel to it at a distance of 300 yards. Its eastern part was worked for copper by Wheal Bahavella.
According to Dines, Wheal Applin was also known as Wheal Tavas, but Noall pointed out that Wheal Tavas is a completely different mine.
