In crystalline limestone.

The deposit was discovered in 1888. In 1918, J.E. Wilder of Ottawa obtained the mineral rights, began development work, and set up a grinding plant beside the main pit. In 1918 two hundred tons were mined and stockpiled of which 23 tons were shipped to the Dunlop Tire and Rubber Goods Company Limited. In 1941, A.E. Fletche leased the property from the Toronto General Trusts Corporation, a few tons were removed from a small drift in the main pit. This and some stockpile material were shipped: 22 tons to Pulverized Products, Montreal, and 5 tons to the St. Lawrence Chemical Company.
