This mine is east of the Great Fingall Mine, and east of the road/old railway line, marked by a couple of old shafts and diggings. Very little early information was found. It is reported August 1895 to have been sold to a syndicate. Crushings were recorded for the next 3 years. In 1901 a local Day Dawn syndicate took over the mine. This syndicate also took over the neighbouring old Ballarat lease, their holding totalling 24 acres (GML 641).

In 1905 John and George Cairns (and two others) purchased the property. At the time the shaft was to 90 feet and they had the intention of sinking it to 200 feet. There are three reefs on the property, and a 5 head battery was installed. In November 1905 George passed away in the shaft after being overcome by dynamite fumes. John had also lost a brother, Alec, six years before at the Iron Duke Mine Kalgoorlie, and another brother who fell down a shaft at Bendigo. Despite this the mine kept operating until 1915.

A small local syndicate resumed mining at the location from around 1935 to 1939.

There is an estimated resource left at the mine of 206 000 tonnes at 1.68 g/t yielding 11 000 oz.
