The Anderson's Mine is on the south side of Caledonian Gully near its confluence with Scanlons Gully. The battery site is at the confluence of Scanlons Gully with Rich Burn.
Anderson, Hannah and party purchased the old Sunrise battery nearby in 1907, then owned by the Premier Company, and moved the battery to the location it now sits. The mine closed in 1910, due to a lack of water to process the gold.
The mine re-opened briefly by the United Goldfields of New Zealand Company after World War One, a new level was driven, then the mine closed in 1921.
The Anderson battery is the easiest to get to from the car park at the end of Macetown Road, being only a short walk. It is a ten stamp battery, with one set of the five lying on the ground. The pelton wheel was removed in the 1970's, but the casing remains, as does a berdan pan.
