Alteration: Silicification
Shaft to south sunk on opalite layer in silicified rhyolite laced with hairline, silica-filled fractures, with cinnabar "paint" along some fractures. North of wash is an elongate hill of silicified rhyolite outcrops rhyolite shows flow-banding N 30-45 E, near vertical. Rocks is intensely silicified, Fe ox-stained along fractures, shows some stockworks of quartz veining with fine-grained pyrite exposed in small pit, leached cavities (after feldspar, biotite) contain golden-brown mineral (jarosite)?
