A former lode Au-Cu mine located in sec. 32, T3N, R13E, about 2.3 km (1.5 miles) W of Angels Camp. Operated during the periods of the 1860's, 1870's and 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters.

NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10283994 places this mine in sec. 16, T3N, R13E, MDM, and states that the accuracy for its location is 10,000 meters. The T&R data and geographic coordinatesm, plus the description of the mine presented in MRDS file #10029117 all correspond to the topo map (sec. 32).

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in amphibolite and schist. The ore body strikes NW dips NE. The ore consists of numerous small veins of quartz. Chalcocite is present. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).

A number of NW-striking and NE-dipping quartz veins in amphibolite shist. Active from 1860's to 1896. Ore treated in 5-stamp mill.

Workings 8include underground openings comprised of 2 shafts 40 feet apart with drifts.
