A former W mine located in sec. 22, T7S, R30E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) SW of Mount Tom (coordinates of record) in the Sierra Nevada, on National Park Service wilderness land (John Muir Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

NOTE: The geographic coordinates presented in the USGS MRDS file #10035155 are obviously inaccurate and place this locality in sec. 23, despite the fact that the same file states that it is in sec. 22. The topo map clearly reflects this mine, by name, in sec. 22. The coordinates provided in this Mindat file were taken from the topo map, which essentially correspond to the correct coordinates provided in MRDS file #10163851.

Mineralization is hosted in hornfels and granite. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Workings include unspecified underground openings (the topo map reflects 1 shaft and 2 adit symbols).
