A former lode Au mine located in the N½NW¼ sec. 6, T8S, R21E, and in the S½SW¼ sec. 31, T7S, R21E, MDM, 1.3 km (4,300 feet) NW of Coarsegold. Discovered in 1853. Property consisted of 4 patented claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N40E and dips 30SE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein parallels the bedding of the enclosing slate. The ore shoots rake to the N at a flat angle, 3.5 to 4 feet thick. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Workings include underground openings. This mine was developed to the 1,200 foot level with a 1,400 foot adit, a 920 feet incline plus a mill. A detailed diagram is found in McLaughlin & Bradley (1914): 551.

production information: No specific production record found, but since 1903, it has been estimated at $185,000 (period values). The ore averaged $4/ton of Au (period values). The concentrate at 0.5%, valued at $98.00/ton (period values), and bullion fineness of 0.555. Ore was also reportedly stoped and milled for $1.40/ton. Work on the footwall of the vein at No. 3 level encountered ore from $20 to $50/ton (period values) in value.
