A former lode Au mine located in sec. 14, T5S, R19E, MDM, 3.0 km (9,800 feet) SW of Darrah, along Snow Creek and W of Magoon Hill (1 mile NE of Mariposa), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with several veins/pockets, hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips 25E. One vein strikes N and dips E in greenstone walls. A second vein system, consisting of several parallel veins, strikes NW & dips 20-30E. A third well-defined vein strikes NW and dips 45W, wall rocks bring slate and dike rock. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings. Soil and softer parts of the veins near the surface have been extensively placered. The underground workings probably not extensive. The old workings are almost obliterated.
