A Cr occurrence/prospect located in the NE¼ sec. 26, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2 km ENE of Grass Valley proper, E of Hills Flat, on private land. Discovered in 1918. Operated & owned by D. Whilden. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a Cr deposit comprised of a small lens plus float. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface openings comprised of 5 small open cuts (1 pit 6 feet in diameter).

No ore was shipped.
