A former placer Au-diamond deposit/mine located in secs. 23, 24, 25 & 35, T17N, R7E, MDM, starting about 1.5 km (0.9 mile) NNE of French Corral, and running S along the E side of French Corral, continuing to a point S of it in sec. 35. The property consists of 1,700 acres. This includes the Kate Hayes, Esperance, Fraser and Alex, Bedrock tunnel, and the Milton placer mines. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. A portion of this property is evident on the topo map as a shaded surface mine pit.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
