A Cu occurrence/prospect located in the SW¼SE¼SE¼ sec. 26, T3N, R26E, SBM, 5.2 km (3.3 miles) NE of Monument Peak (coordinates of record), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by J. P. and Ruth M. Hinds (100%), Arizona. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
This property was examined in conjunction with the mineral appraisal of the Whipple Mountains Wilderness Study Area (Bureau of Land Management) in 1980. Backup information can be found in the WFOC mineral property files.
The ore body is tabular in a shear zone. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. The primary ore control was fracturing and the secondary control was faulting. Wallrock alteration is slight (propylitic). Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex.
