A former placer Au-PGE (Pt) dredge mine located 4.7 km (2.9 miles) WSW of Girvan, along Clear Creek (on Clear Creek 4 miles upstream from its mouth at the SAcramento River), on private land. Operated by Lawrence Gardella, American Gold Dredging Co. (1918). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. NOTE: This mine is prominent on the topo map as a large area of dredge tailings.

Mineralization is a stream placer deposit (Deposit model: 119: Placer Au-PGE), hosted in streal gravel. The ore body is a stream sedments deposit 6.1 meters thick. Ore control was stream hydraulics. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Related tectonic structures include the Klamath Mountains Accreted Terrane.

Workings at the site were surface operations covering an area of 283.29 hectares.
