Formula:
(Ca,Ce)F2+x
Name:
The term cerfluorite was first used by Vogt (1914) on a synthetic Ce-bearing fluorite.
Later Sverdrup (1968) analyzed a sample of a possible yttrofluorite from Hundholmen, Norway and found that the investigated material was not a yttrofluorite (content of Ce > Y) but rather a yttrocerite or a possible cerfluorite.
