Old manganese mine located in Val d'Otro, W of Alagna Valsesia, and exploited in the period 1938-1949.
Lenses of manganese silicate marbles are found in manganese quartzites, interbedded in a series of quartzites, calcareous marls, phyllites, and prasinites. The most common mineral assemblage in the manganese quartzites is: quartz+spessartite+pyroxene+albiteΒ±braunite.
