Located 9 kilometres north of Norseman, and mined in conjunction with Bullen, Crown, OK and Princess Royal Mines. Mining started at Harlequin in 1995. It is an underground mine, on Lake Cowan, a large usually dry salt lake. Golden Dragon Mine is 500m south, Princess Royal 500m east, North Royal 500m south-east, and Jubilation Mine 2 kms east.
Hosted by metadolerite and metabasalt, most of the gold is found in sub-horizontal veins up to 1.5m thick, with sub-vertical tension veins common around the lode also carrying some gold. Sericite-biotite extends laterally 12m and calcite 20-25m from the lode veins. Inconsistent gold mineralisation also occurs in the biotite zone.
