In the 1960's the locality was known as the Lincoln Stone Company Quarry or Lincoln Stone and Lime Quarry, but the locality is also known as the Thomasville Quarry as it resides just South of Thomasville and the Lincoln Highway. Modified calcite scalenohedrons were reported up to 14 inches, some being "sceptered." The locality is mostly known for calcite, often fat, modified, or twinned scalenohedrons of pale yellow to clear color. Luster is most often waxy, sometimes gemmy. Some of the calcites bear resemblance to those of the York Building Supply Quarry on Roosevelt Avenue (former Delta Carbonate Quarry) to the north. Although some calcites from Thomasville Quarry have orange iron oxide coatings like the Roosevelt Avenue Quarry, they are not as frequent.
The Thomasville Quarry was also the site of a one-time find of gemmy green sphalerite crystals in 1992.
