Clay pit of The Binfield Brick & Tile Company that produced excellent euhedral "swallowtail" twinned selenite crystals. Hollow tubular pyrite, with interior lined with pyrite microcrystals are possibly pseudomorphs after plant roots.

Although The Binfield Brick & Tile Company closed in the 1960s, the abandoned clay pit remained accessible for some while following. The brickworks site was then extensively redeveloped during the period mid 70s to mid 90s and now houses a Leisuresport complex and ski slope and various hi-tech industries.
