Latitude & Longitude (WGS84): 19° 26' 14'' South , 134° 0' 57'' East
Latitude & Longitude (decimal): -19.4373977795, 134.016067493

The Pinot prospect is 32 kilometres north-west of Tennant Creek, and 3.5 kilometres west north-west of the Orlando mine, as two magnetic anomalies, east and north of a substantial porphyry body.

This largely flat area contains sub-outcropping sheared fine grained sedimentary rocks with hematite, and minor magnetite veins, and nearby quartz-feldspar porphyry. The ironstone is found in dilational sites at the intersection of north-west and north-east trending structures. The magnetite-hematite- quartz ironstone is found in a 50 metre wide zone surrounded by chlorite altered siltstone.

No historic workings are located here and there is no recorded production.

Geopecko drilled on the lease, then North Flinders Mines also drilled in the early 1990's. They uncovered a broad copper anomaly, and more restricted bismuth anomaly. Some gold must also have been found, as the source notes the best result was 3 metres @ 1.06 g/t Au.
