Alteration: Oxidation, Hydrothermally Altered
Deposit type: Hot-spring Au-Ag
Development: 4 or 5 levels of drill roads cover hill side in area of prospect shown on map. Numerous drill holes. One small open pit mine below roads.
Geology: Small open pit mine explores highly oxidized & hydrothermally altered zone in very fine grained dark grey, basaltic-andesite. The upper part of the pit is elongate in a fine-grained mafic volcanic rock, but the lower part intercepts a coarse-grained highly altered volcanic or possibly an intrusive dike. The upper levels of the pit is intensely altered (abundant limonite, hematite, goethite) cut by numerous white veins composed of calcite & talc. Veins cut the rock along bedding.
