Part of Summit-Obyrne Mine; NBMG Sample Site 2659
Structure: Shank Fault, Which Here Strikes Just W Of N-S, Dips W Faults
Deposit: The o'byrne bed is part of the humboldt bed that has been slightly offset across a portion of the southwest stock. Consists of tunnels & adits driven in o'byrne bed, part of the humboldt bed. This segment of the bed has been slightly off set across a portion of the southwest stock which cuts between the summit and o'byrne workings. The bed extends from this point south to its contact with the main portion of the soughwest stock, south of the lower o'byrne adit. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept
Deposit type: W skarn
Geology: The summit-o'byrne bed strikes ne, dips steeply SE and extends from the south rim of the george mine pit across stank hill and into stank canyon, where it comes in contact with the small southwest stock. Ore in the tactite body was limited to a triangular segment of the bed lying between the surface and the plane of the stank fault. Ore on the south was limited by the gradational limestone-tactite boundary.
