An irregularly shaped cut has been made on the steep east-facing slope of a north-south ridge on the opposite side of the creek to Proctor No. 1 Prospect. This opening, which is 38 feet long (northeast-southwest), 33 feet wide (northwest-southeast) and 13 feet deep, was made in red clay containing chert, clear barite crystals, and coarse calcite crystals. The chert is in part white and porcelaineous and in part banded and oolitic. A large boulder of fine-grained, gray dolomite is in the north wall. On the hillside 30 feet above the pit a ledge of fine-grained gray dolomite is overlain by cherty (oolitic) dolomite. The deposit contains more crystalline calcite than barite.
