Newton-by-Castle-Acre chalk pit
Chalk quarry owned by Needham Chalk and working the Upper Cretaceous chalks. Numerous flints are to be found in the chalk and the cavities in these have produced specimens of chalcedony (sometimes with a thin coating of vivianite), quartz, limonite and siderite.
