A former Cr occurrence/mine located in sec. 9, T5N, R13E, MDM, about 6.6 km SSW of Railroad Flat, on the divide between Jack Nelson Creek and Esperanza Creek (1½ miles by road SSW of the Late property on the N side of Esperanza Creek). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a Cr deposit. Very small grains of chromite are irregularly scattered through very talcose serpentine. Ore in place is very low grade. About ½ ton of high-grade chromite float was also found. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include surface openings comprised of a 12 foot deep pit and several shallow trenches.

Production statistics Some ore was mined during WWI. No record of any ore being shipped.
