A former lode Au-Pb occurrence/mine located in the S½SE¼ (estimated) sec. 4, T15N, R11E, MDM, about 3.2 km NNW of Damascus (2 miles NW of Shady Run), on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file #10103115 states that this mine is within the Dutch Flat District. Clark (1970a) defines the Dutch Flat District as extending W-E from the Bear River to the NW flank of Moody Ridge, far to the W of this locality.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body/vein is 1.22 meters (4 feet) thick. The vein carries sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 18.29 meters and an overall depth of 18.29 meters and comprised of a shaft and a drift.
