A former Hg occurrence/mine located in sec. 29, T8S, R1E, MDM, about 6.8 km WNW of New Almaden, on county owned land (Almaden Quicksilver County Park). Discovered prior to 1863. Produced during the periods 1863 to 1909 (intermittent), 1909 to 1912 and 1915 to 1926. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Franciscan Complex (Late Cretaceous serpentinite). The ore body strikes N50-80W and dips 40SW with a depth-to-bottom of 393.19 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included local fractures. Local alteration includes silica carbonate alteration of serpentine.
