A former lode Au-Fe-Cu-Pb mine located in the SE¼ sec. 5, T6N, R12E, MDM, 2.0 km (1.2 miles) SW of Pine Grove, along Jackson Creek (E of state highway 88), on private land. Owned by George B. and Florence Taves (1953). Operated in 1931 and 1933 to 1934. Closed in 1935. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Work started in 1931 and was operated by various operators until 1935. Mine has been idle since.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60-70SW at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The quartz vein is 3 to 4 feet thick in blocky greenastone. A 9 inch (22.5 cm) thick vein of galena was encountered at the end of the drift on the 45 foot level. Free gold is associated with pyrite, minor chalcopyrite and some galena. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 110 foot shaft with 30 feet of drifts at the 45 foot level.

Production data are found in: Carlson, D.W. & W.B. Clark (1954).

A shipment of 800 pounds of ore in 1933 contained $173 of Au at $20.67 per ounce.
