Crystal System:
Orthorhombic
Reported as the Ca analogue of birnessite; however, the structure reported is orthorhombic, and that for the associating birnessite - hexagonal (while it is actually monoclinic). Compare ranciéite (the phase is rather different from it, as it differs in crystal structure).

Forms elongated platelets, found within the Atlantis fracture zone, Atlantic Ocean.
