Lens-shaped ore bodies with disseminated gold mineralization of Carlin-like style, hosted in Middle Triassic carbonate rocks and related to a Mesozoic granodiorite intrusion. Unlike a typical Carlin-type deposit, however, the Zhongqu deposit contains small flakes of visible gold.
