A quarry in a Lower Tertiary nepheline-basalt, which was abandoned in 1979 and forms part of a protected area since 1983. Höwenegg mountain, where the quarry is situated, is also a very important locality for Tertiary fossil mammals. NOTE: Collecting here is strictly prohibited.
Located about 3 km south of Immendingen.

This quarry is the type locality of amicite, which was discovered by Otto Krumm in thin veins of the melilite-nephelinite rock and provided for research. The first description was made by Alberti, Hentschel & Vezzalini in 1979 (see reference). Amicite is associated with merlinoite, calcite and aragonite.
