This occurrence is now within the Noatak National Preserve which is closed to mining and mineral exploration.
Location: This occurrence is about 4.8 miles south of Asik Mountain and about 0.4 mile south of the center of Section 12, T. 23 N., R. 17 W., of the Kateel River Meridian. The location is accurate.
Geology: Little is known about this occurrence other than purple fluorite occurs in calcite veinlets that cross-cut gray limestone of Paleozoic, probably Devonian, age (Cobb and others, 1981).
