The Rover Range mineral sands prospect is one kilometre south of the Alexandra Bridge, bordering the west side of the Blackwood River. The Warner Glen mineral sands prospect is directly east, bordering the eastern side of the river. Rover Range at the time of writing is less well explored than Warner Glen.
Ilmenite grades are said to be approximately 3.7%. The prospect covers 5 kilometres north-south, and 2.5 kilometres east-west. The high clay content and sand abrasiveness presents challenges to extraction. Explored BHP Billiton 1987 to 1999.
The prospect is in the western section of the Scott Coastal Plain, between the Dunsborough fault to the west, and Alexandra Bridge Fault to the east.
