Arizona Bureau of Mines file data.

A Ag-Cu-Au mine located in T.21S., R.15E., about 4,400 feet west of the Sweet Mine, at an elevation of 5,020 feet on the south slope of Mansfield Gulch. Owned at times, or in part, by Mansfield & Ryan; the Gunsight Mining Co.; Powers; Mansfield Mining & Smelting Co.

Mineralization is a vein deposit which occur mainly in a 10 foot wide siliceous vein or lode (Black Cap vein) which dips 70ºSE. The oreshoot or pay streak is said to be about 3 feet wide. The ore contains mainly chalcopyrite and pyrite in the fine-grained, massive form, a little tetrahedrite and galena, considerable manganese, and in places bornite.

The country rock is close-grained dark-gray monzonite or diorite allied to that of the Sweet Mine, and is considerably altered. As at the Sweet Mine, it is intruded and overlain by rhyolite on the south. The mine seems to be on an east-west contact of these two rocks.

Workings include a 140 foot deep shaft and a 200 foot tunnel with laterals on three levels and stopes, aggregating nearly 2,000 feet of work. The levels are the 30, 90 & 130. Worked principally in 1907.
