Deposit: Quartzites are fractured and veined by quartz along n25 W orientation. Some breccia also observed. Dump consists of quartzite and quartz-cemented quartzite breccia. Vuggy, open-centered comb quartz veins cut the quartzite. Many of the veins are about 1 in. Wide, and quartz is typically white to vitreous grey. Vugs in the vein are filled by limonite and hematite. Streaks and clots of very fine-grained sulfides occur in quartz. Clots of tetrahedrite are common with rims oxidized to copper oxides. Some sugary, dense quartz vein material contains abundant finely disseminated unoxidized pyrite.
Development: Dumps have been trenched and sampled within past year or so. (1983)
Geology: Chert pebble conglomerate seen in float on road below mine.
Rock formation(s): Prospect Mountain Quartzite
Ore(s): Fault Zone, Brecciation
