A former Au-Ag mine located in sec. 20, T9N, R20E, MDM, 2.6 km (8,600 feet) W of Silver Mountain (townsite), in Pennsylvania Canyon (not named on topo map), on National Forest wilderness land (Mokelumne Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a deposit with varying amounts of sulfides hosted in granitic gneiss. The ore body is 2.44 meters thick. The deposit is a vein of silicified breccia in granitic rock, both granite but the footwall has gouge of clay 3 inches thick. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 900 foot lower adit and a 300 foot upper adit, and a shaft. Crosscuts the vein 500 feet from surface (data from MRDS - what does ??). Production data are found in: Clark (1977).

Production information: Some production in the 1860's and 1870's. No other production record found.
