A former small underground Cu-Ag-Pb mine located in West-central sec. 31, T.13S., R.12E., 6 miles SE of Avra. Owned at times, or in part, by the Gould Copper Mining Co.; and the Pioneer Smelting Co.
Mineralization is copper sulfides, pyrite and minor copper carbonates with quartz, epidote, and garnet in contact metamorphosed limestone lenses in Cretaceous arkose where cut by a fissure zone and intruded by Laramide quartz latite dikes.
Workings include a 350 foot (106.68 meters) deep shaft, tunnels, and underground workings. This mine produced intermittently from 1907 to 1912 and in 1940. Total production was some 1,500 tons of ore averaging about 2% Cu, and 0.1 oz. Ag/T.
