The pegmatite is located 25 kilometres north west of Mukinbudin, and 50 metres north of Cosh's South Pegmatite. It is named after Kevin and Patricia Cosh, who own the farm the pegmatite is on. Also known as Whyte's South pegmatite. No mining or test pits have been made on the pegmatite, which is a mass of white quartz and topaz at ground level, surrounded by wheat fields.
The largest recovered topaz crystal in Western Australia, weighing 45 kilograms, has come from this pegmatite. The site is said to hold glassy white to yellow (from iron staining) topaz crystals and crystal fragments, one to forty kilograms in weight, with some being gem quality. The pegmatite is likely to contain more topaz under the surface, but no exploration has been made for this. It is likely to remain that way, as the deposit is on private property. Topaz cleavage masses are common in Western Australian pegmatites, but are often overlooked.
