Gneiss outcrops.

Hematite, sometimes in the form of iron roses, in association with quartz and albite occurs in gneiss fissure in the area between Motta di Balbalera and Angeli Custodi, on the right side of the Poschiavino river.

Tiny anatase and brookite crystals on quartz crystals are found in gneiss fissures in the area between L'Abrüsù and Angeli Custodi, on the left side of the Poschiavino river.

Gold is present in some quartz veins.
