Named giraudite (without the suffix) in honor of Roger Giraud (1936– ), electron microprobe laboratory, BRGM-CNRS, Orleans, France. The suffix was added by the IMA, according to the new tetrahedrite group nomenclature of Biagione et al. (2020).
