About Whiteite Subgroup
Formula:
XM1M22M32(H2O)8(OH)2(PO4)4
Member of:
A subgroup of the Jahnsite Group, which includes chemically complex, monoclinic phosphates.
The suffix in the names of the minerals in this group indicates sequentially the dominant atom in the X, M1, and M2 structural positions; the M3 position is always Al-dominant (Al>Fe3+).
See also the closely related Jahnsite Subgroup.
