Ancient mercury mine, abandoned in 1939 and re-opened as a visitor's mine in 1976 (Schmittenstollen, separate locality). Quartz-porphyry with Hg minerals in its clefts.

Located 1 km south of Niederhausen and about 8 km SW of Bad Kreuznach.
